New Media provided the strategy that helped transform retail banking in Australia which introduced new customer-centric retail environments that welcomed customers and leveraged many-core Australian lifestyle drivers. The Credit Union became a cafe, a lounge, a creche and a safe and secure digital banking gateway.

Project results

Store traffic increased by 1,367%, product sales increased by 931% and staff found that they built better customer relationships. The concept won the prestigious industry ABACUS Award for Innovation and was also adopted by the big four Australian banks.

Campaign to help Smart increase sales

The name Smart derives from the cooperation of the Swiss company Swatch with Mercedes-Benz. In 1998 the model line was subsequently expanded to include the rear-engine, rear-drive Roadster and a four-door, four-seat supermini aptly named For-four (the original City-Coupé was renamed For-two to fit the new naming scheme).

Client objectives

Increase sales across metropolitan regions of Australia. Develop an edgy campaign that will appeal to a hipster audience, aged 25 to 50 years old, the main demographic for Smart 4x2 vehicles.

Client solution

A campaign was developed and filmed in edgy Australian urban environments that reflected a spin on Australia's rugged and fun culture. Our campaign leveraged Australia's love of off-roading by cheekily mirroring the rough, edgy urban environments and their 4x4s with the 4x2 name. Our Smart Tracks campaign leads consumers to Smart dealerships via foot, car or public transport. “Follow the tracks” communication was used across all metro/urban areas of Sydney and Melbourne.

New Media were brought in to revitalize and align the Star Entertainment Groups' loyalty program across all its destinations and develop the resorts into Australia’s premier go-to gaming destination.

New Loyalty Cards optimise engagement and rewards

Client solution

New Media provided the strategy to evolve their loyalty program and aligned all their resorts with the same rewards based on spend. Challenges included mitigating risk caused by aligning their rewards program that customers experienced gains in one destination by reduced rewards in others. A comprehensive programme was developed to promote and highlight all the entertainment and experiences delivered across their destinations, live via metrolites and online.

Project results

The new loyalty program helped deliver constant revenue growth of 7% year-over-year. Profits grew by 33.7% and the loyalty program managed 1,743,698 domestic and 76,927 international clients and VIP customers rose 10% to record levels. Compare this to all other global gaming resorts that experienced a 5% or bigger decline in revenue, especially VIP customers.

WeGather is a global online platform where experts and enthusiasts can lead discussions on topics that matter to their community, and earn an income for providing that expertise and content. Discussion leaders can earn through tips and donations from their followers/audience and by hosting pay-to-access discussions. Discussion leaders are brought together in Communities (e.g. Fitness, Business, Relationships, etc), so it’s easy for users to find experts in that field and all their discussions in one place.

Client project objectives

Build a new social tech start-up and build a target database of 17,000 new registered subscribers so the directors could raise their second tranche through Seedrs.

Client solution

New Media developed a strategy and campaign that used click-bait content across social media to encourage discussion and topic interest. Our challenge to deliver 17,000 new subscribers was compounded by Google Spaces, a rival product which started one month earlier and with access to the resources and funding of a media giant.

Project results

New Media delivered in just one month more than 34,000 new subscribers through our click-bait media campaign for a media investment of only $27,000.a CPA of 0.79. WeGather raising was oversubscribed by $500,000.

Transforming Citibank

We developed Citigroup’s APAC and JPAC consumer intelligence platforms for Citi’s Global Consumer Bank (GCB), one of the world’s leading digital banks, serves as a trusted partner to more than 100 million customers in 19 markets worldwide. The project delivered a seamless platform that could operate in a region with over 23 languages and provide insights and personalised content.

An integrated website was developed to deliver secure content streams to Citigroup staff based on their specific requirements. A full approved, content library was developed and managed in multiple languages and leveraged my all marketing departments to support day-to-day operations.

We deployed a platform that was capable of engaging a social and news audience in 23 languages across all major social platforms with custom reporting dashboards

We on-boarded and supported a 306 person team located across the Citigroup operation in Asia

Citigroup used the platform to manage over 65,000 daily posts through paid and earned channels.
